Job summary

SCIEX, a Danaher operating company, seeks a District Sales Manager – West to translate regional strategy into disciplined execution, manage forecasting, and drive profitable growth across the West district. The role is Bay Area–based, with remote work supporting the West region and relocation assistance available.

You will build senior‑level customer relationships, lead a remote, dispersed team, and collaborate with Service, Finance, HR and Legal to meet commercial targets, leveraging DBS

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a life science–related discipline or equivalent experience in technical sales, including high‑complexity capital equipment within life sciences.
• Experience achieving or exceeding commercial targets in the life science capital equipment market.
• 5+ yrs experience leading individual contributors in a sales environment.
• Experience owning sales forecasting, territory planning, and pipeline management at a district level.
• Demonstrated application of structured continuous improvement or business system methodologies.
• Experience leading and operating effectively within a remote, geographically dispersed organization.

Responsibilities

• Deliver district‑level orders, revenue, and margin results across the SCIEX instrument portfolio through effective execution of the regional sales strategy.
• Own district forecasting rigor, including weekly, monthly, and quarterly order and revenue commitments.
• Develop and execute district growth and action plans using DBS methodologies, visual management, and performance metrics.
• Build and maintain senior‑level customer relationships and key opinion leader engagement across the West region.
• Assess competitive and market dynamics, identify growth opportunities and risks, and implement timely countermeasures.
• Partner with cross‑functional stakeholders (Service, Finance, Sales Operations, HR, IT, Legal) to achieve business objectives.
• Lead, coach, and performance‑manage direct reports, enabling capability development, engagement, and succession readiness.
