Job summary

AMERICAN seeks a Sales Representative to drive growth for the AFC Division in water, wastewater, and sewer markets. You will manage and expand an existing client base while generating new leads and traveling within the territory.

Ideal candidates are strategic problem solvers with strong public speaking skills and a knack for building relationships. A bachelor’s degree or equivalent municipal-water-experience is required, with remote work possible and extensive travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 3 years municipal water works product experience.
• Willing to live within the assigned territory.
• Travel at least 60% of the time.
• Ability to learn and interpret specifications for projects involving our products.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint."

Responsibilities

• Establish and cultivate long-term relationships with municipalities, engineering firms, contractors, distributors, and water authorities.
• Promote AFC Division products to water and sewer markets in the assigned territory; conduct promotional calls and spec development.
• Provide expert consultation on hydrants, valves, and other products; negotiate and present.
• Respond to inquiries, coordinate orders, expedite shipments, and address pricing concerns.
• Travel within the assigned territory to build relationships and provide post-sale support.
