Job summary

OnTrac is seeking a Vice President of Linehaul & Fleet Operations to lead transportation strategy, network performance, and fleet operations with a multimillion-dollar impact. This remote role may involve travel and collaborates with executive leadership to optimize service, safety, and cost across national operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Transportation, Logistics, or related field or equivalent experience
• 15+ years leading large-scale transportation, fleet, logistics, or operations organizations
• Expert knowledge of transportation operations, linehaul networks, fleet management, and regulatory requirements
• Experience negotiating rates and competitive RFPs; travel up to 25%

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute transportation strategies that optimize service, safety, cost, and network performance
• Provide leadership for Directors of Transportation and Hub-to-Hub Operations
• Establish long-range network strategies including capacity planning and service design
• Direct owned fleet and carrier strategies for capacity and cost efficiency
• Lead enterprise fleet maintenance, safety, and regulatory compliance
• Drive KPI frameworks, analytics, and reporting for safety, service, and cost control
• Oversee transportation budgets and capital investments; manage costs
• Guide technology roadmap including TMS, visibility platforms, and predictive analytics
• Negotiate multi-year transportation agreements and strategic partnerships
• Support customer growth opportunities and onboarding with pricing strategy and network adjustments
