Job summary

IDC is seeking a senior distribution strategy analyst to lead North America and Asia Pacific trackers and guide the Channel Partner Ecosystem. You will translate data into strategic narratives for technology vendors and lead advisory engagements that help vendors optimize their programs.

The role requires deep knowledge of distributor economics, sell-through dynamics, and collaboration with a data operations team. Travel is expected around 25% with a flexible remote/onsite work model.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree required.
• 12-15 years of senior experience in distribution programs or analyst research.
• Operational exposure to sell-through data at the program level.
• Understanding of distributor economics and sell-through vs sell-in dynamics.
• Ability to transform data into strategic market insights and hypotheses.
• Frame data trends as strategic imperatives for vendor programs.
• Partner with data operations or analytics teams on methodology and outputs.
• Ability to represent IDC publicly with credibility.
• Comfort with ambiguity and structured thinking.
• Travel up to 25%.
• Work model: Remote, Hybrid or On-site (Boston, MA).

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary analyst owner of NADT, APDT, and Channel Partner Ecosystem trackers.
• Convert channel data into strategic narratives for senior executives.
• Lead primary and bespoke research and advisory engagements for vendor programs.
• Manage IDC customer relationships in collaboration with account executives.
• Identify upgrade and expansion opportunities across tracker tiers and bespoke engagements.
