Job summary

IDC is seeking a remote analyst with deep knowledge of datacenter facilities, non-IT infrastructure, and services such as hosting and colocation. The role emphasizes quantitative analysis, client engagement, and strong narrative communication.

You will model datacenter metrics, collaborate across infrastructure and cloud teams, and contribute to reports, blogs, and webinars while engaging vendors and end users at events.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (STEM degree is a plus, but not required).
• 5–10 years of relevant work experience in IT and/or the datacenter industry.
• Strong quantitative and qualitative (narrative) skills.
• Self-driven with initiative and problem-solving abilities.
• Willingness to travel 35–50%.

Responsibilities

• Cover the datacenter market and industry, tracking leading facility owners/operators.
• Quantitatively model datacenter metrics including buildouts, space, racks, power, cooling and IT infrastructure.
• Collaborate with infrastructure and cloud services analysts to align datasets.
• Produce written content and social media coverage; prepare reports, blogs, and posts.
• Speak at events and present at webinars as a subject matter expert.
