Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a skilled VoIP Systems Administrator for a fully remote role. You will install, configure, and maintain IP PBX, voicemail, and call management software while monitoring performance and ensuring high availability.

The role involves troubleshooting, managing users, and implementing security measures. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of VoIP experience, strong networking knowledge, and familiarity with Asterisk/FreePBX/Cisco CallManager/Avaya.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience administering and supporting VoIP systems.
• In-depth knowledge of VoIP protocols such as SIP, RTP, and SCCP.
• Experience with IP PBX platforms (e.g., Asterisk, FreePBX, Cisco CallManager, Avaya).

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain VoIP systems, including IP PBX, voicemail, and call management software.
• Monitor VoIP network performance, identify issues, and implement solutions to ensure high availability.
• Troubleshoot VoIP‑related hardware and software problems, providing timely resolution.
• Manage user accounts, extensions, and call routing configurations.
• Implement and maintain security measures for the VoIP system to prevent unauthorized access and threats.
• Perform regular system updates and patching to ensure optimal performance and security.
• Document VoIP system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
• Collaborate with network and systems teams to ensure seamless integration of VoIP services.
• Respond to user support requests related to VoIP services.
• Stay current with emerging VoIP technologies and industry best practices.
