Job summary

Pearson Evaluation Systems is seeking part-time, remote scorers to evaluate teacher candidate responses for language assessments. Scorers apply scoring standards, participate in training and calibration activities, and help support the quality and consistency of teacher licensure assessments.

This flexible, remote opportunity lets educators and fluent language professionals apply their expertise while upholding high professional standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher.
• Must be native or fluent in the language for which they apply.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Experience in education or language testing is a plus.
• Basic computer skills and ability to sit for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate responses to test questions using established scoring criteria.
• Complete required scorer training and calibration activities before scoring begins.
• Internalize scoring standards and participate in consensus-scoring discussions.
• Recognize and mitigate potential scoring biases (implicit, cultural, leniency, central tendency, halo).
• Meet quality and productivity requirements and pass a qualifying test before scoring.
