Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly analytical Remote Automotive Performance Engineer to focus on the simulation and modeling of vehicle dynamics, powertrain performance, and advanced control systems. This fully remote position enables shaping vehicle behavior from anywhere within a globally distributed team.

Strong background in CFD/FEA and control theory is preferred, with expertise in MATLAB/Simulink, GT-SUITE, AVL CRUISE, ADAMS, STAR-CCM+, and Python for automation.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree with a strong focus on simulation and modeling.
• Proven experience building automotive simulation models.
• Strong background in vehicle dynamics, powertrain, CFD or FEA.

Responsibilities

• Develop, validate, and maintain multi-physics simulation models for vehicle dynamics, powertrain, and chassis.
• Perform virtual testing to optimize performance, fuel economy, emissions, and handling.
• Use MATLAB/Simulink, GT-SUITE, AVL CRUISE, ADAMS, STAR-CCM+ or similar tools.
• Correlate simulations with experimental data from testing and lab measurements.
• Develop control strategies for powertrain, suspension, and braking systems.
• Analyze outputs to identify limits and improvement areas.
• Collaborate with design and test teams to define requirements and validate models.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations summarizing findings.
• Stay updated on new simulation tech and best practices.
