Job summary

Coding Concepts, LLC. seeks a detail-oriented Vascular Surgery Coder to join our revenue cycle team. You will review, analyze, and assign ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes for open, endovascular, and diagnostic vascular procedures.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in vascular surgery coding, holds an AAPC or AHIMA credential, and can navigate complex anatomy and coding guidelines to ensure accurate reimbursement and compliant denials management. This is a remote position.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of vascular surgery coding experience.
• Interventional radiology, cardiovascular, or endovascular coding experience preferred.
• Must hold at least one credential from AAPC or AHIMA: CIRCC, CCC, CPC, or CCS.

Responsibilities

• Abstract and assign ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes for open, endovascular, and diagnostic vascular procedures.
• Code complex interventional radiology and vascular selectively catheterized vessels with appropriate component coding.
• Review operative reports, physician notes, and diagnostic tests to ensure documentation supports services rendered.
• Initiate precise, compliant physician queries to vascular surgeons when documentation is ambiguous or incomplete.
• Analyze, appeal, and resolve coding-related denials and rejections specific to vascular surgery.
• Stay updated on NCCI edits, LCDs, and NCDs to ensure compliance with payer regulations.
