Job summary

GovCIO is seeking an Enterprise Data Architect to lead architecture for VA modernization efforts, focusing on VA data and analytics. This senior role is remote within the continental United States and demands heavy technical leadership across Azure data services and data governance.

The position requires 12+ years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree with 15+ years in data-focused roles, plus strong communication with VA stakeholders. Clearances may be needed as part of the program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 15+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong leadership in enterprise data architecture for VA environments.
• Experience with CDW data and Oracle Health data.
• Proven Azure data services expertise.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and evolution of Summits enterprise data architecture, defining scalable patterns for data ingestion, integration, storage, transformation, and governance across complex VA environments.
• Provide deep technical leadership across Azure cloud and data services, including Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure SQL, and ADLS supporting enterprise-scale data workloads.
• Develop and enforce reference architecture, data models, and architecture decisions.
• Provide technical leadership across Data Engineering, DevSecOps, AI/ML, Cloud provisioning, and security teams.
