Job summary

Morpho, a leading DeFi lending protocol, seeks a US Regulatory Engagement Lead. Reporting to the General Counsel, you will own Morpho's US policy pipeline end to end, tracking rulemakings, drafting submissions, and leading meetings with agency staff, Congress and industry coalitions.

You will build relationships with the SEC, CFTC, Treasury and FinCEN, manage outside policy counsel, and brief leadership on policy developments to shape Morpho's US policy plan.

Qualifications

• 5 to 8 years working on SEC or CFTC matters, at an agency, in a law firm regulatory practice, at a trade association or on an in-house regulatory or policy team.
• Strong working knowledge of federal securities and commodities law and the rulemaking process.
• Excellent writing, with regulatory submissions or similar work product to show for it.
• Existing relationships with agency staff, congressional staff or industry coalitions.
• Able to learn how onchain lending works and explain it clearly to a non-technical audience.

Responsibilities

• Track SEC, CFTC, Treasury and FinCEN rulemakings and maintain a live calendar of deadlines with a posture for each.
• Lead drafting of comment letters, responses to requests for comment and other submissions.
• Prepare and lead meetings with agency staff and offices, including briefing materials and talking points.
• Represent Morpho in trade association groups and coalition filings.
• Engage congressional offices on legislation and its implementation for DeFi lending.
• Manage outside policy counsel and consultants: scope, deliverables and spend.
• Brief leadership and product teams on US policy developments.
