Job summary

GitLab is seeking a Support Engineer for the U.S. Government Support team, focusing on secure, air-gapped and regulated environments. You will diagnose complex issues, analyze logs, and collaborate with Product, Development, and Infrastructure to ensure mission-critical reliability.

Qualifications

• United States citizenship required for eligibility.
• Experience managing customer-facing cases across the full support lifecycle.
• Strong Linux systems administration knowledge for troubleshooting complex environments.
• Familiarity with AI gateway configurations or model-serving layers.
• Ability to explain complex topics clearly to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with public sector customers to diagnose and resolve issues in GitLab deployments under strict security constraints.
• Perform deep investigations using Linux CLI, logs, and GitLab internals to identify root causes.
• Create and update clear, reusable docs and self-service content.
• Participate in pairing sessions and share knowledge to improve support processes.
• Contribute to building internal tools and troubleshooting utilities.
• Participate in on-call rotations and support emergency needs.
• Assist in interviewing and hiring discussions to grow the team.
