Job summary

GitLab is seeking a Support Engineer to join our distributed team. You will troubleshoot complex issues across self-managed GitLab and GitLab.com environments, work with Linux systems and our Ruby on Rails stack, and help shape our support processes and content.

You will collaborate with Product, Development, Infrastructure, Customer Success, and Sales to influence roadmaps, implement fixes, and deliver exceptional customer support. This role emphasizes on-call rotations and team mentorship.

Qualifications

• Experience owning complex, customer-facing technical cases from initial contact to resolution.
• Strong Linux system administration and scripting skills in production or customer environments.
• Experience with Git and CI/CD practices to investigate and fix issues.

Responsibilities

• Escalate and lead resolution of difficult customer issues via Zendesk, MR, email, and calls.
• Mentor teammates on troubleshooting and customer communication.
• Drive improvements to support practices, product quality, and documentation.
