Job summary

Jobgether SRL partner seeks a Transmission System Planning Consultant based in the United States. You will study and analyze transmission systems, lead project execution, and mentor junior staff, while engaging directly with utilities and stakeholders to define study objectives and methodologies.

The role emphasizes technical rigor, clear communication, and collaborative leadership across multidisciplinary teams, with opportunities to influence decisions affecting North American energy

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline from an accredited program.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in electric utility operations, transmission planning, power systems, or engineering consulting.
• Strong understanding of transmission planning processes and electric transmission systems.
• Independent execution of transmission planning studies and adaptation of methods.
• Familiarity with NERC/FERC standards and major North American ISOs (MISO, ERCOT, PJM, SPP, CAISO, WECC, SERC, NYISO, ISO-NE).

Responsibilities

• Perform transmission system planning studies covering transient stability, power flow, transfer capability, reliability, short-circuit, economic dispatch, and electromagnetic analyses.
• Lead project execution, including technical analysis, staffing plans, deliverable development, quality management, and scheduling.
• Guide consultants and analysts toward study objectives while ensuring viable results.
• Partner with project managers to oversee technical execution and align scope with client expectations.
• Develop comprehensive study reports documenting methodologies, analyses, results, and findings.
• Manage multiple projects, identify critical paths, and address delivery risks.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and on-the-job training to junior staff.
• Support business development with technical input to proposals and client discussions.
• Evaluate engineering techniques and adapt criteria for complex transmission planning challenges.
• Stay informed about applicable standards and incorporate them into technical work.
