Job summary

GFT is seeking an OE Transmission Line Engineer to join our Power Business Group. In this hybrid role, you will lead transmission line project designs for a major utility client, acting as Owner’s Engineer and guiding discussions with clients and project teams.

You will apply your 4+ years of transmission line design experience, NESC/IEEE knowledge, and expertise in PLS-CADD and related tools to ensure constructability and code compliance. PE is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Electrical, or Structural Engineering from an accredited college.
• 4+ years of experience in transmission line design.
• In-depth knowledge of NESC, IEEE and related codes.
• High proficiency in PLS-CADD.
• Knowledge of FAD Tools.
• Experience in electrical utility consulting preferred.
• Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee transmission line project designs as Owner’s Engineer for a major utility client.
• Navigate design complexities while leading client and project-team discussions.
• Review consultants’ submittals for constructability and compliance with client standards.
