Job summary
Leidos is seeking a Transmission Line Engineer to design high- and extra-high-voltage transmission systems and lead projects from concept through construction-ready packaging. You will use PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, and related tools to meet NESC/ASCE/ACI standards and support grid modernization, with hybrid/remote options for the right candidate.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 2+ years (Mid), 4+ years (Senior), or 8+ years (Lead) are preferred, with PE preferred for higher levels.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering and prior experience in design of electric utility transmission systems.
- Expert-level knowledge of PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE.
- Solid understanding of NESC, ACI, AISC, and ASCE codes.
- Ability to translate complex engineering concepts into clear project scopes and client presentations.
Responsibilities
- Design overhead and underground transmission systems and ensure compliance with standards.
- Lead projects from conceptual routing to material procurement and construction-ready packages.
- Apply advanced modeling to solve site-specific challenges and lead multi-disciplinary teams.
- Mentor junior engineers and manage client interfaces for Senior/Lead roles.
