Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Transmission Line Engineer at Mid, Senior, and Lead levels to design electric utility transmission lines using PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, and related tools. The role involves end-to-end project ownership, from routing and engineering analysis to procurement and construction-ready packages.

The ideal candidate has strong communication skills, a bachelor’s degree in engineering, and experience with NESC, ASCE, AISC, and related codes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
• Experience with design of electric utility transmission systems preferred.
• PE license or EIT considered for mid/senior roles.

Responsibilities

• Design overhead and underground transmission systems using PLS-CADD and comply with industry standards.
• Lead projects from conceptual routing to procurement and construction-ready packages.
• Apply advanced modeling tools to address site-specific challenges and complex foundation designs.
• Mentor junior engineers and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams on larger projects (senior/lead).
