Job summary

Leidos is seeking Transmission Line Engineers (Mid, Senior, Lead) to design overhead/underground transmission systems and lead projects, with remote work options and a requirement to be within driving distance to Reno, NV.

You will use PLS-CADD/PLS-POLE, apply NESC/ASCE standards, mentor others, and coordinate with clients. PE preferred for senior roles; Bachelor's in Engineering required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering and prior relevant experience in the design of electric utility transmission systems
• Expert-level or working knowledge of PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE.
• Working knowledge of NESC, ACI, AISC, and ASCE codes.
• Ability to translate complex engineering concepts into clear project scopes and client presentations.

Responsibilities

• Design overhead and underground systems using PLS-CADD, ensuring compliance with NESC, ASCE, and ACI standards.
• Move projects from conceptual routing and engineering analysis to material procurement and construction-ready packages.
• Apply advanced modeling (PLS-TOWER, LPILE, FAD) to solve site-specific challenges, from complex foundation designs to intricate voltage conversions.
• Mentor junior engineers, manage client interfaces, and steer multi-disciplinary teams toward successful project delivery.
