Job summary

First American Corporation is seeking a Title Examiner to support our Agency Division remotely. You will review residential title orders, abstract records, and prepare initial title commitments while testing related tools and workflows.

We require a high school diploma and 2+ years of multistate title examination experience; state licenses if required, and strong analytical, research and communication skills. Our benefits package supports a people-first culture.

Responsibilities

• Perform title examinations and review chains of title for residential orders.
• Abstract and analyze records (mortgages, liens, judgments, easements, vital statistics, plats) to determine ownership and verify descriptions.
• Resolve title issues with missing or inconsistent information.
• Prepare initial title commitment documentation.
• Test title-related tools, platforms and applications across workflows.
• Provide feedback to technology teams with examples and context.
• Help define test scenarios and improve workflows based on practices.
• Review reports and system documentation for accuracy and usability.
• Provide underwriting interpretation within guidelines.
