Job summary

First American, a leading title and risk solutions provider, seeks a Title Examiner to perform residential title examinations. You will abstract and analyze records, resolve inconsistencies, and prepare title commitments using established guidelines.

You’ll work remotely with a pay range of $23.37–$31.15 per hour. Candidates should have 2+ years of multistate title examination experience and relevant state licenses where required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 2+ years multistate title examination experience.
• State license(s) if required.
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform title examinations and review chains of title for residential orders.
• Abstract and analyze records to determine ownership and legal descriptions.
• Resolve missing, incomplete, or contradictory title information.
• Prepare initial title commitment documentation using established guidelines.
• Test title-related tools and platforms across workflows.
• Compare results with examiner judgment and source records to detect errors.
• Provide feedback to technology teams with examples of expected results.
• Help define test scenarios and workflows based on real-world practices.
• Review reports for accuracy and usability.
• Provide underwriting interpretation within guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
