The role combines hands-on security engineering with governance, risk, and compliance activities, requiring hands-on experience with SIEMs, detection rule development, and cross-team collaboration across security, IT, and cloud environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• 5+ years hands-on detection engineering experience, SIEM rules at scale, scripting (PowerShell or Python).
• 5+ years cybersecurity experience in threat detection, security operations, or audits.
• Hands-on with SIEM platforms such as Microsoft Sentinel, Splunk ES, QRadar, or Elastic.
• Experience developing and maintaining detection rules, alerts, and monitoring processes.
• Strong understanding of auditing, risk management, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain threat detection and monitoring across enterprise environments.
• Develop, tune, and optimize SIEM use cases, detection rules, alerts, and correlation logic.
• Conduct proactive threat hunting, investigations, and event analysis.
• Collaborate with Security Operations, Incident Response, IT, and Cloud teams to improve coverage.
• Support audits by providing evidence, documentation, and audit responses.
• Evaluate security controls and recommend improvements for compliance and risk reduction.
• Analyze logs and telemetry from network, endpoint, cloud, and applications.
• Develop metrics and dashboards to measure detection effectiveness and readiness.
• Automate monitoring and reporting processes via scripting and workflows.
• Participate in incident investigations and root cause analysis.
