Job summary

GovCIO is hiring a Test Automation Engineer for the Patient Care Services upgrade. Remote work within the United States with core hours 8-5 ET.

You'll design, build, and maintain automated functional, API, and performance tests, integrating them into CI/CD pipelines and enabling enterprise QA across multiple applications. Requirements include 8+ years in software testing, hands-on automation with Selenium/Java, Jenkins, and JIRA, plus experience with VA clinical workflows and AI-assisted testing

Qualifications

• 8 years of experience in software development, testing and quality assurance.
• Hands-on automation with Selenium WebDriver, Java, VS Code, 508 Accessibility, Jenkins, GitHub, Jira, and Xray.
• Experience with VA clinical pharmacy apps/workflows (VistA, CPRS, FILEMAN, VA FORUM).
• Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
• Experience designing/executing performance tests.
• Experience writing relational SQL queries for test validation.
• Understanding SDLC/STLC/ALM/DevSecOps in practice.
• Strong analytical and communication skills; AI-assisted test generation experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop, execute, and maintain automated functional, regression, API, smoke, and non-functional test suites.
• Develop automated API contract tests for internal and partner REST services.
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
• Validate functionality, business rules, API integrations, and data processing across systems.
• Develop data-driven test scenarios using relational SQL.
• Monitor test execution, analyze results, and support defect resolution.
• Maintain test assets, repositories, and documentation for long-term sustainment.
• Collaborate with developers, QA, DevSecOps to ensure coverage and quality.
• Evaluate AI-assisted test generation and reporting within the SDLC.
