Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Test Automation Engineer to support the Patient Care Services, Pharmacy sub-product line upgrade efforts. This fully remote role within the United States requires 8+ years of software testing/QA and strong automation expertise to drive CI/CD delivery and 508-accessibility testing across enterprise applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business or technical discipline plus 8 years of experience in software development, testing and quality assurance (or commensurate experience).
• Strong hands-on test automation experience using Selenium WebDriver, Java, VS Code, 508-accessibility, Jenkins, GitHub, Jira, and Xray (Jira plugin).
• Experience with VA clinical pharmacy applications and workflows (e.g., VistA, CPRS, FILEMAN, VA FORUM).
• Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
• Experience designing and executing performance tests and writing relational SQL queries for test validation.

Responsibilities

• Develop, execute, and maintain automated test suites including functional, regression, API, and non-functional tests.
• Develop automated API contract tests for internal and partner REST services.
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
• Validate application functionality, business rules, API integrations, and data processing across enterprise systems.
• Develop data-driven test scenarios using relational SQL and application datasets.
• Monitor automated test execution, analyze results, and support defect identification and resolution.
• Maintain automated test assets, repositories, and documentation for long-term sustainment.
• Collaborate with developers, analysts, testers, and DevSecOps engineers to ensure test coverage and quality.
• Evaluate AI-assisted test generation and reporting within the SDLC where appropriate.
