Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Test Automation Engineer to support the Patient Care Services upgrade efforts. This fully remote role operates within the United States, with core hours 8 AM–5 PM ET.

You will design, develop, and maintain automated test solutions for functional, API, and non-functional testing, including 508 accessibility, and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines across enterprise applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a business or technical discipline with 8+ years in software development, testing, or QA.
• Hands-on test automation with Selenium WebDriver, Java, VS Code, Jenkins, GitHub, Jira and Xray.
• Experience with VA clinical applications and workflow systems (VistA, CPRS, FILEMAN, VA FORUM).
• Proven ability to integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
• Experience designing performance tests and writing relational SQL for data-driven tests.
• Solid understanding of SDLC, STLC, and DevSecOps practices including CI/CD.
• Strong problem solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Experience enabling AI-assisted test generation, analysis, and reporting within SDLC.

Responsibilities

• Develop, execute, and maintain automated functional, API, and performance tests.
• Build automated test suites including 508-accessibility and non-functional testing.
• Integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines and monitor test execution.
• Validate functionality, business rules, API integrations, and data processing across systems.
• Create data-driven test scenarios using relational SQL and sample datasets.
• Collaborate with developers, testers, and DevSecOps to ensure full coverage and quality.
