Job summary

Golden Pet Brands is seeking a Territory Sales Manager for the Pacific Northwest. This remote role covers Washington & Oregon with 75% travel, driving store acquisitions and account growth through HQ collaboration.

You’ll forecast sales, support product launches, and build strong distributor/retailer relationships to expand our pet brand footprint. The ideal candidate brings 3+ years in pet industry retail sales and distributor experience, plus a BS or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Thorough understanding of the pet industry, including distributors and retailers.
• Knowledge of sales management within the retail channel.
• Ability to develop and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with focused accounts.
• Curiosity and commitment to ongoing growth, staying updated on industry trends.
• Capable of strategic planning to maximize sales within the territory.
• Self-motivated and self-directed.
• Detail-oriented with exceptional follow-through.
• Understanding of how regional chains operate and HQ collaboration.
• Flexible and adaptable to changes, including launching new brands.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 3 years of experience in the Pet Industry selling to retailers at store level.
• 3 years of experience selling through distributor sales reps.
• Preferred: 5 years of experience in selling through distributor reps.

Responsibilities

• Identify and acquire new stores within the assigned territory.
• Manage and grow territory-level accounts through HQ relationships and joint business planning.
• Build and maintain distribution and store relationships, providing service and support.
• Meet and exceed sales targets, manage trade spend and travel budget.
• Provide accurate sales forecasts and reports to management.
• Monitor market trends and competitive activity.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for order fulfillment.
• Ensure flawless execution of new product launches and promotions.
• Attend industry events to represent brands and expand network.
• Maintain understanding of pet brands and independent pet channel.
