Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking an experienced Tendering System Application Engineer to act as the primary technical architect for complex power systems and energy infrastructure. You will lead technical definitions, validate solutions, and provide cost estimates across DCS/SCADA, protection, and cyber security to accelerate the sales process.

In this role, you will interface with cross-functional teams, translate customer needs into robust architectures, and ensure compliance with IEEE, IEC, and CSA

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 3–5 years of experience designing protection & control schemes, SCADA, and substation automation.
• Knowledge of substation communication protocols (DNP3/IEC61850) and IED/relay concepts.
• Proficiency with Visio for conceptual drawings and network diagrams.
• Strong analytical rigor to translate specs into tender-ready plans.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical definition of projects by detailing requirements and architecture for DCS/SCADA and automation schemes.
• Evaluate RFQs to define precise technical scopes of work and cost estimates.
• Define technical requirements for substation communication protocols (DNP3/IEC61850) and validate system architecture for performance and cybersecurity alignment.
• Manage technical Risk & Opportunity registers to quantify risks and contingencies.
• Provide technical advocacy to cross-functional teams and justify design choices.
