Job summary

Mission Critical Group is seeking a Power Systems Application Engineer to provide deep technical leadership for electrical infrastructure projects. The role supports sales, estimating, and project execution with focus on accurate specifications and compliant designs.

The candidate will work across internal teams, maintain industry standards files, and develop datasheets and quotes to ensure reliable, cost-effective solutions for marine, heavy industrial, or oil & gas environments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of electrical power systems application experience (up to 38 kV) in Marine, Heavy Industrial, or Oil & Gas environments.
• Experience with Switchgear, MCCs, Generators and Motors; Power Factor Correction.
• Knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, NEMA, IEEE, IEC, UL/CSA, ABS, ANSI C37.1 and C37.2.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a technical advisor to internal and external stakeholders to ensure accurate specifications and error-free designs.
• Collaborate with account managers to define the technical scope of current product offerings.
• Review RFQs and specification reviews to identify technical risks and schedule impacts.
• Develop value-engineered solutions balancing performance, cost, and manufacturability.
• Review datasheets and sales quotation letters for technical accuracy.
