Job summary

Argo Group is seeking a highly capable Workers' Compensation Claims Adjuster for a temporary assignment. The role can be in-office or remote with an estimated end date of 9 October 2026. You will adjudicate high-technical-complexity indemnity WC claims for CT, DC, DE, MD and VT, and may transition to temp-to-hire at select offices across the U.S.

Overtime may be required. Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills are essential, as is a bachelor's degree and active licenses in CT,

Qualifications

• Minimum five years' experience adjudicating workers' compensation claims in CT, DC, DE, MD, and VT.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university; two or more insurance designations or four additional years of related experience may substitute for the degree.
• License in CT, DE, VT.
• Strong business acumen and understanding of how an insurance company works.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build lasting relationships.
• Fast-paced environment; ability to prioritize workload.
• Strong claim negotiation skills.
• Fluent reading and writing in English.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Adjudicate workers' compensation claims of higher technical complexity under direction, impacting departmental results.
• Resolve issues that are generally not complex but require broader understanding.
• Report to senior management and underwriters on trends and developments.
• Investigate claims promptly and thoroughly.
• Analyze claims forms, policies, endorsements, and client instructions to determine policy coverage.
• Interview involved parties and manage litigation as needed.
• Manage diaries to move cases toward best financial outcomes and timely resolution.
• Set claim reserves accurately.
• Coordinate expertise resources to assist in case resolution.
• Prepare reports for file documentation.
• Apply creative solutions for optimal financial outcomes and negotiate settlements.
• Communicate via telephone and written correspondence with insured and claimant.
