Job summary

Athens Administrators seeks a Telephonic Nurse Case Manager to support its Managed Care Department. This full-time role can be remote from several states if technical requirements are met, following a 9am–5pm Pacific workday.

The position involves coordinating medical care, return-to-work strategies, and cost-effective plans for injured or chronically ill individuals. The role requires nursing degrees and an active RN license, with preferred certifications (CCM/CIRS/CRRN/COHN).

Qualifications

• Master's or Bachelor's degree in nursing or ADN with active RN license
• CCM/CIRS/CRRN/COHN or related designation preferred
• 3+ years’ workers’ compensation case management experience or related field required
• Fluency in Spanish preferred
• Strong clinical background in orthopedics, neurology, or rehabilitation useful
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; EMR/EHR experience strongly valued

Responsibilities

• Organize and review medical records; provide information and recommendations
• Maintain regular contact with parties to coordinate medical and vocational management
• Arrange prompt medical treatment with qualified providers
• Schedule appointments to avoid delays in care
• Assist physicians in developing and modifying treatment plans
• Track progress with providers and adjust plans toward maximum medical improvement
• Coordinate with employers to develop modified-duty work
• Educate employers on benefits of accommodations and return-to-work strategies
• Develop and implement workflows, reporting, and training as needed
• Maintain compliance with safety and regulatory requirements
