Qualifications

• 6+ years of indirect tax or indirect tax technology experience.
• Experience with US sales and use tax; knowledge of Canada GST/HST/PST and Australia/New Zealand GST.
• Hands-on experience configuring Vertex O Series and reviewing Vertex configurations/testing documents.
• Experience integrating ERP tax systems (e.g., NetSuite) with Vertex.
• Ability to translate tax requirements into functional system designs and review design docs.
• Direct engagement with engineering teams on tax system design and product development.
• Familiarity with data flow from upstream systems through tax engines to reporting.
• Project management experience with charters, plans, milestones and RAID logs.

Responsibilities

• Lead tax platform and business projects on the DoorDash platform, including new launches and legislative changes.
• Gather requirements from TAP, Tax Product, and stakeholders; translate into functional requirements for configuration, testing and delivery.
• Review BRDs/PRDs/TDDs for tax-system implications and provide functional tax expertise.
• Define testing requirements and oversee validations across unit, integration, end-to-end, shadow, and post-launch phases.
• Trace tax data from upstream systems through Vertex to reporting and flag gaps or risks.
• Ensure production readiness and document post-launch lessons learned.
• Serve as a bridge between non-tax tech stakeholders and tax technology teams.
• Collaborate with US and Mexico peers and offshore teams for coverage and knowledge transfer.
