Atomic HR is seeking a seasoned CPA to review AI-prepared tax returns and set the standard for final sign-off. You will identify data-source issues, validate AI outputs, and mentor junior reviewers in a remote or hybrid US setting.

The role focuses on complex individual and small-business taxes, notices handling, and proactive tax planning memos for owner-operated businesses, with authority and equity in the founding company.

Qualifications

• 5+ years preparing and reviewing complex 1040s, 1065, 1120S and multi-state returns.
• Proficient with professional tax software and OCR/AI tools; able to explain output trust issues.
• Experience mentoring junior or offshore preparers; ability to train others.

Responsibilities

• Review AI-prepared tax returns and decide on signing, sending, or holding.
• Define edge-case rules, AI error checks and QA steps with the engineering team.
• Identify causes of wrong numbers and test fixes with the product team.
• Provide tax strategy notes and memos for S-corp owners; support compliance.
