Atomic HR client seeks a licensed CPA to review AI-prepared tax returns for individuals and small businesses, including multi-state filings. You will sign, return, or hold returns, and define QA and edge-case rules with engineers.

You will mentor a lean team of reviewers, handle IRS/state notices, and contribute to tax planning memos for S corp owners. Remote or hybrid, full-time role with founding equity.

Qualifications

• 5+ years preparing and reviewing complex individual and small-business returns.
• Experience with 1040, K-1s, S corps, partnerships, C corps, and multi-state returns.
• Hands-on use of automation, OCR or AI tools on real client work.
• Ability to explain where outputs cannot be trusted.
• US-based, remote or hybrid work environment.

Responsabilités

• Review AI-prepared tax returns and decide whether to sign, return, or hold.
• Define edge-case rules, AI error checks and QA steps around the engine.
• Help build and mentor a lean team of fractional or full-time reviewers.
• Trace figures back to source documents and test fixes with engineering.
• Prepare tax-planning memos for S corp owners (reasonable compensation, entity choice).
