Job summary

Atomic HR is seeking an experienced CPA to review and sign AI-prepared tax returns for individuals and small businesses nationwide. The role offers remote or hybrid work and full-time equity as part of founding ownership.

You will ensure accuracy for 1040s, 1065s, 1120S and C corp returns with multi-state considerations and provide final approval. You will collaborate with engineers to define edge-case rules, QA the engine, and mentor junior reviewers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years preparing and reviewing complex individual and small-business returns.
• Experience with 1040s, K-1s, S corps, partnerships, C corps and multi-state clients.
• Proficient with professional tax software and automation/OCR/AI tools.
• Ability to explain output trustworthiness and handle notices from IRS/state.

Responsibilities

• Review AI-prepared returns and provide final sign-off or notes.
• Define edge-case rules and QA steps with engineering for the engine.
• Trace figures to source documents and test fixes with product/engineering.
• Mentor junior, offshore, or fractional preparers and review work.
• Prepare tax-planning memos for S-corp owners and tax strategy input.
