Job summary

Atomic HR is seeking a senior CPA to review AI-prepared individual and small-business returns, validate figures, and determine sign-off, revision, or return. You will work remotely or in a hybrid US setting, applying your license and professional judgment to 1040s, 1065s, and S corporations.

You will help define edge-case rules, QA checks with engineers, and mentor a lean team of reviewers. Prior experience with OCR/AI tools and tax planning for owners of small businesses is preferred, with

Qualifications

• 5+ years preparing and reviewing complex individual and small-business returns.
• Experience with professional tax software and automation/AI tools.
• Ability to explain output trustworthiness and identify errors.
• Handling IRS/state notices for clients.
• Experience training or reviewing junior, offshore or fractional preparers.
• Tax‑planning memos for S corp owners.

Responsibilities

• Review AI-prepared returns and decide sign-off, send back or hold.
• Define edge-case rules and QA steps with the engineering team.
• Test fixes and validate outcomes with the product team.
• Ensure compliance and provide tax strategy guidance.
