Job summary

YO AI Labs seeks Tax Professionals to apply knowledge of US tax statutes and regulations to train and evaluate AI systems. Remote work is offered for candidates with CPA/CA or US tax attorney background, focusing on interpretation and structured evaluation of tax content.

You will translate complex tax provisions into testable criteria and develop rubrics, ensuring AI outputs reflect correct conditions, exclusions, and defined terms with high accuracy.

Qualifications

• Active CPA license, CA designation, or experience as a US tax attorney.
• Strong experience with US tax law interpretation, especially sales and use tax or SALT.
• Proven ability to interpret tax statutes and regulations, not just tax return prep.
• Solid understanding of legal logic: conditions, thresholds, exceptions, defined terms, AND/OR structures.
• Excellent structured written communication with precision and clarity.
• Exceptional attention to detail in analyzing exceptions, exclusions, and edge cases.
• Strong analytical and critical-thinking abilities.
• Comfortable giving structured feedback via digital review platforms.
• Ability to work independently with objective evaluation criteria.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret US sales and use tax statutes across state jurisdictions, with some federal provisions.
• Analyze statutory subsections, defined terms, conditions, thresholds, exceptions, and related provisions.
• Develop structured evaluation rubrics that translate statutory requirements into objective criteria.
• Assign severity levels to requirements based on legal significance.
• Review AI-generated tax statute interpretations against independently developed rubrics.
• Verify AI outputs capture conditions, thresholds, AND/OR logic, exceptions, exclusions, and defined terms.
• Create clear, self-contained test scenarios with facts, dates, amounts, and expected outcomes.
• Identify discrepancies, ambiguities, and potential inaccuracies in AI-generated tax content.
• Submit structured written evaluations and feedback through digital platforms.
• Provide precise, actionable feedback to improve AI-driven tax solutions.
