Qualifications

• Active CPA license, CA designation, or experience as a US tax attorney.
• Strong experience with US tax law interpretation, including sales and use tax.
• Proven ability to interpret tax statutes and regulations beyond tax return prep.
• Sharp understanding of legal logic, conditions, thresholds, exceptions, and AND/OR structures.
• Excellent structured written communication with precision and clarity.
• Exceptional attention to detail when analyzing exceptions and edge cases.
• Ability to work independently and apply objective evaluation criteria.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret US sales and use tax statutes and regulations across multiple jurisdictions, including occasional federal provisions.
• Analyze statutory subsections, defined terms, thresholds, exceptions, and related provisions.
• Develop structured evaluation rubrics that translate legal requirements into discrete, testable criteria.
• Assign severity levels based on legal significance and impact.
• Review AI-generated tax interpretations against independently developed rubrics.
• Verify AI outputs capture conditions, thresholds, exclusions, defined terms, and logic.
• Create clear test scenarios with facts, dates, amounts, and expected outcomes.
• Identify discrepancies and ambiguities in AI-generated tax content.
• Submit structured evaluations and provide actionable feedback via digital platforms.
