Qualifications

• Active CPA license, CA designation, or experience as a US tax attorney.
• Strong experience with US tax law interpretation, particularly sales and use tax.
• Proven ability to interpret tax statutes and regulations beyond return prep.
• Strong understanding of legal logic (conditions, thresholds, exceptions, terms).
• Excellent structured written communication with precision and clarity.
• Exceptional attention to detail in analyzing exceptions and edge cases.
• Analytical and critical-thinking abilities.
• Comfortable providing structured feedback through digital review platforms.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret US sales and use tax statutes across state jurisdictions, and federal provisions.
• Analyze statutory subsections, defined terms, conditions, thresholds, exceptions.
• Develop structured evaluation rubrics that translate statutory requirements into testable criteria.
• Assign severity levels based on legal significance.
• Review AI-generated tax interpretations against rubrics.
• Verify AI outputs capture conditions, thresholds, AND/OR logic, exclusions and defined terms.
• Create clear test scenarios with facts, dates, amounts and outcomes.
• Identify discrepancies and ambiguities in AI-generated tax content.
• Provide structured written evaluations and actionable feedback on tax content.
