Job summary

So Cal Training Team Media Group is seeking a Network & Systems Engineer to build, configure, and maintain a robust networked environment in Pasadena. You will ensure high availability, implement HIPAA-aligned backups, and drive security-focused infrastructure improvements.

You will collaborate across teams to mitigate bottlenecks, document topology, and push automation through scripts and group policies, while maintaining up-to-date security practices.

Qualifications

• Degree in computer science, IT, engineering or related field.
• Minimum certifications: Microsoft and CCNA.
• Experience administering virtual environments (3+ years).
• LAN/WAN experience and focus on security.
• Knowledge of backup strategies and SQL administration.
• Ability to prioritize workloads and document systems.

Responsibilities

• Building, configuring, and maintaining the networked computer system.
• Monitoring, documenting, and testing data backups per 3-2-1 and HIPAA.
• Diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, networking, and system issues.
• Architecting infrastructure design for security and redundancy.
• Planning rollout, upgrades, and patch management.
• Collaborating with team and stakeholders to address bottlenecks.
• Updating policies and procedures per HIPAA security practices.
• Creating and maintaining system design and topology documentation.
• Maintaining knowledge of security best practices and sharing it.
• Auditing time waste and creating workflow automation.
• Analyzing current network operations and enhancing automation.
• Using scripts and group policies for deployments and new tools.
