Job summary

Cedars-Sinai is seeking a dedicated Coding professional to join our team as a Coder II. The role requires at least 2 years of surgical coding experience in a multi-specialty setting, with strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 coding and payment methodologies.

The successful candidate will ensure accurate coding, apply appropriate modifiers, and stay current with regulatory changes. Remote work is approved for several states, including Florida and others.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of surgical coding experience in a multi-specialty medical group or physician practice.
• Familiarity with ICD-10-CM, CPT-4 coding and payment methodologies.
• Knowledge of California and National reporting requirements.
• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) required; COSC and CIRCC certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assigns ICD-10-CM and CPT codes for patients and applies modifiers for accurate reimbursement.
• Maintains familiarity with coding regulations, Medicare rules, and surgical coding nuances.
• Adheres to coding guidelines for multi-specialty practices and attends updates on new rules when applicable.
• Identifies coding trends and issues and communicates solutions to supervisors.
