Job summary

Cedars-Sinai is seeking a skilled Medical Coder II to assign ICD-10-CM and CPT codes for services across multiple specialties. You will ensure accurate modifiers for optimal reimbursement while upholding high data quality and compliance with official coding guidelines.

The role requires CPC certification and at least 2 years of surgical coding experience in a multi-specialty setting; COSC or CIRCC certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) required.
• Certified Orthopaedic Surgery Coder (COSC) certification preferred.
• CIRCC (Certified Interventional Radiology Cardiovascular Coder) certification preferred.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience performing ICD-10 and CPT code assignments in a health care setting required.
• Familiarity with California and National reporting requirements.
• Please provide a cover letter detailing orthopedic surgery, spine surgery, neurospine, cardiology, and multispecialty coding experience.

Responsibilities

• Assign CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS codes for patients.
• Accurately apply modifiers to assure optimal reimbursement and data quality.
• Maintain familiarity with coding regulations, Medicare rules, and related guidelines.
• Attend seminars/workshops for updates on coding rules.
• Elevate issues to Coding Supervisor/Manager as needed.
• Meet productivity and quality standards set by leadership.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient care and business matters.
• Follow policies and procedures of coding and compliance.
