Qualifications

• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) required.
• COSC certification preferred.
• CIRCC certification preferred.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience performing ICD-10 and CPT coding in a health care setting.

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-10-CM and CPT codes for patients using official coding guidelines.
• Apply accurate modifiers to ensure optimal reimbursement and data quality.
• Follow coding guidelines for multi-specialty surgical and complex coding.
• Attend seminars/workshops for updates on coding rules.
• Escalate issues to Coding Supervisor or Manager when needed.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient care and business matters.
• Meet productivity and quality standards set by the Coding Supervisor and Manager.
