Qualifications

• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) required.
• COSC certification preferred.
• CIRCC certification preferred.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 2 years of ICD-10 and CPT coding experience in a health care setting.

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-10-CM and CPT codes for patients.
• Apply modifiers to ensure optimal reimbursement and data quality.
• Keep up with coding regulations and Medicare rules.
• Handle multi-specialty surgical coding guidelines.
• Attend seminars/workshops for coding updates.
• Escalate issues to Coding Supervisor/Manager.
• Meet productivity and quality standards.
• Identify coding trends and suggest solutions.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with policies.
