Job summary

Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles is seeking a skilled Coder II to join our multidisciplinary team. Under the Coding Supervisor, you will assign ICD-10-CM and CPT codes for patients, ensuring accurate modifiers and high-quality data for optimal reimbursement.

Requirements include CPC certification, 2 years of surgical coding in a multispecialty practice, familiarity with ICD-10-CM/CPT-4, and knowledge of California reporting requirements. Experience with orthopedic/spine/cardiology coding is a plus.

Qualifications

• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) required.
• Minimum of 2 years surgical coding experience in a multi-specialty medical group or multispecialty physician practice.
• Familiarity with ICD-10-CM, CPT-4 coding and payment methodologies.
• Working knowledge of California and National reporting requirements.
• Please provide a cover letter detailing orthopedic surgery, spine surgery, neurospine, cardiology, and multispecialty coding experience.
• High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Assign CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS codes and modifiers accurately.
• Maintain familiarity with coding regulations and Medicare rules.
• Implement coding guidelines for multi-specialty practices and complex coding.
• Attend seminars/workshops for updates on new coding rules and regulations.
• Elevate issues to Coding Supervisor and Manager.
• Meet productivity and quality standards as designated by Coding Supervisor and Manager.
• Identify trends and issues with physician coding practices and present solutions.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient care and business matters.
• Follow policies and procedures pertinent to the coding and compliance departments.
