Job summary

Orbital Engineering, Inc. seeks a Substation Protection & Control Designer for a REMOTE WORK role to support our Substation Engineering & Design team across the U.S. You will develop substation design packages and protection/control deliverables with accuracy.

Ideal candidates will have AutoCAD or MicroStation experience, strong knowledge of NEC/NESC/IEEE, and demonstrated ability to mentor designers in a project team environment.

Qualifications

• Drafting and detailing experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
• Proficiency with NEC, NESC, IEEE, and related standards.
• Ability to create and modify substation drawings from markups.
• Proven ability to manage multiple complex assignments with detail.
• Comfort collaborating in cross-functional, remotely located teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop substation design drawings and deliverables with high accuracy.
• Prepare and review drawing packages for substation projects.
• Mentor and supervise designers to ensure project success.
• Support pre-bid walkdowns, proposals, and project estimates.
• Coordinate with project management to develop plans and updates.
