Job summary

ENERCON's Substation Group is seeking a Substation Designer - Protection & Controls to design protection drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and control layouts for substations. You will collaborate with engineers, perform design calculations, provide field support during construction, and travel to client sites as needed.

The role requires a minimum of 3 years' experience, familiarity with relay protection, MicroStation and AutoCAD, and readiness to work in distributed office locations

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Substation designing, with a primary focus on executing protection and control projects.
• Familiarity with relay protection schemes.
• Experience with MicroStation and AutoCAD.
• Willingness to enter energized electric substations with proper training and PPE.
• Must be self-driven in time management to meet deadlines and provide accurate deliverables, with the ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Must be proficient with typical office software including Microsoft Windows and Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Willingness to travel for client site visits and project meetings.

Responsibilities

• Substation Design & Drafting: Develop electric substation drawings, including schematics, wiring diagrams, control panel layouts, and control building layouts.
• Engineering Analysis & Calculations: Perform substation design calculations and analysis such as voltage drop and conduit fill.
• Collaboration & Quality Assurance: Work closely with peers to ensure accurate and on-time delivery of electrical design that meets client and industry standards, specifications, and good engineering practices.
• Field Support: Providing on-site technical support for select ENERCON clients during construction and commissioning as required.
