Job summary

ENERCON Services, Inc. is seeking a Substation Designer – Protection & Controls to design protection drawings and control layouts for substations across multiple U.S. locations, including remote options.

You will draft schematics, wiring diagrams, and control building layouts while collaborating with engineers to meet client and industry standards. You’ll perform design calculations, engage in quality assurance, and provide on-site field support during construction and commissioning, with travel

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Substation designing, focusing on protection & control projects.
• Familiarity with relay protection schemes.
• Experience with MicroStation and AutoCAD.
• Willingness to enter energized electric substations with proper training and PPE.
• Proficient with Microsoft Windows and Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Willingness to travel for client site visits and project meetings.

Responsibilities

• Substation Design & Drafting: Develop electric substation drawings, including schematics, wiring diagrams, control panel layouts, and control building layouts.
• Engineering Analysis & Calculations: Perform substation design calculations and analysis such as voltage drop and conduit fill.
• Collaboration & Quality Assurance: Work closely with peers to ensure accurate and on-time delivery of electrical design that meets client and industry standards, specifications, and good engineering practices
• Field Support: Providing on-site technical support for select ENERCON clients during construction and commissioning as required
