Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Substation Project Engineer to join our Power Delivery team. This role supports both substation physical and P&C design, coordinating with internal substation and software teams to define project strategies and ensure design quality.

You will read and design substation drawings, create BOMs and estimates, supervise drafting work, and provide construction support. The position is fully remote with occasional travel, and requires a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field with 4+ years of substation design experience.
Excellent communication skills to interact with internal teams and clients.
Desire to lead next generation engineering strategies and practices.
Ability to meet deadlines under pressure.

Self-starter who works independently and explains engineering judgments.

Responsibilities

Read and design substation drawings such as one-line, three-line diagrams, schematics, and grounding drawings.
Create and check bill of materials for substation physical and P&C designs.
Create and check estimates and project schedules.
Perform quality control checks on designs.
Support full project lifecycle from scoping to implementation.
Work with client standards to implement design; coordinate with designers/drafters.
Provide construction support and occasional site visits.
