Job summary

Leidos Inc is seeking a Lead Substation Physical Engineer to drive the design and delivery of substation physical projects from a remote location within the United States. The role requires coordination with internal teams and external clients, performing QA/QC reviews, and ensuring data accuracy across drawings and BOMs.

The candidate should have a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering with 8+ years of substation experience, and be willing to travel 10–20% to sites and offices as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of substation physical design experience.
• Experience with grounding studies and protection and control.
• Willingness to travel to project sites.
• Strong communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support delivery of substation physical design projects.
• Coordinate with internal teams and clients to understand needs and deliver.
• Perform detailed QA/QC reviews on substation physical design packages.
• Read, design, and review oneline, three-line, plan and section views, grounding layouts, and foundation designs.
• Create and verify bills of materials for substation physical components.
• Conduct site visits at customer locations to gather data and support project execution.
