Job summary

ICF is seeking an experienced Substation Physical Engineer to lead the design and execution of high-voltage substation projects, typically 69kV to 500kV, with a focus on delivering high-quality work for clients. This fully remote role allows you to work from your home office in Puerto Rico and advance toward supervisory responsibilities.

You will manage design drawings, electrical details, grounding, and illumination plans, while coordinating with multiple disciplines and ensuring compliance

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (focus in power systems preferred).
• 8+ years of experience in substation physical design for electric utilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the design and preparation of substation physical design drawings (One Line, Three Line, Station General Arrangements).
• Coordinate with protection & controls, civil/structural, and drafting disciplines to ensure quality deliverables.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers and designers; participate in QA/QC processes.
• Support client meetings, technical discussions and project planning efforts; participate in site visits.
