Job summary

Garmac is seeking a Substation Engineer to lead design for medium- to high-voltage power projects from feasibility through IFC. You will own drawing packages, coordinate protection and control, grounding design, equipment selection, and mentor junior engineers.

Remote with hybrid training and opportunities to work with ETAP, SKM, and AutoCAD. The role requires 5–12 years in electrical power engineering, BSEE or EET, and the ability to run projects independently while adhering to NESC/IEEE

Qualifications

• BSEE or EET required.
• 5–12 years electrical power engineering experience.
• Experience with one-lines, grounding, P&C, relay settings, and NESC compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead design of substation and MV/HV power systems
• Produce one-line and three-line diagrams, AC/DC elementaries, grounding studies, lightning protection, duct banks, and station layouts
• Develop equipment schedules, elevations, clearances, and foundation/steel coordination
• Oversee 30/60/90 and IFC drawing packages
• Support proposals and rough-order-of-magnitude estimates
• Collaborate with design-build subcontractors
• Mentor junior engineers
• Ensure compliance with NESC and IEEE standards
